One step forward, two steps back

Five Planets in Retrograde

Things seem a little sticky right now,

Walking in slow motion through cobwebs.

Mercury dances to his own tune,

While nothing is making sense.

Mars tells me to hang back,

When usually he cheers me on.

When will this waiting end,

When will sleep be mine again.

Ideas hang in mid-air,

Goals seem just out of reach.

Jupiter holds back his fortune,

Luck is not mine to keep.

Saturn brings his hard grind,

Forcing growth when I want rest.

Solar blasts keep me edgy,

This must be for the best.

Pluto says look within,

Release what no longer serves.

Progress may be slow,

But the answers are found therein.

So as I take one step forward,

But two steps back.

I know the path is being cleared,

And I must stay on track.

The Angels cheer me on,

They say these times are your test.

Let the planets do their dance,

Dear one, the Universe has your back!

My Rainbow

I never thought I would be sharing a photo of my bed on this forum (!) but I just had to show you this photo. I woke up to this rainbow this morning. I guess I caught the light coming through the window at the perfect time, but it made me very happy.

Below is the link to an excellent blog on the symbolism of rainbows – it charts the rainbow significance across various cultures.

I hope your rainbow finds you soon!

With love and light.

My Magic

Last night as I walked the fields of my dreams, I looked up and saw a witch, flying off a high building. I didn’t see where she flew to.

As I woke this morning and considered the messages contained in my dreams, I wondered about that witch. The first thing that struck me was her dress – all black, with pointed hat – indeed, the archetypal image impressed in our minds since childhood. This made me wonder about the conditioning of our minds, whether we are conscious of it or not, to think of certain things in certain ways. Are witches really the evil crones depicted in the fairy tales of our childhood?

I see witches as powerful women – powerful because of their knowledge of the workings of nature. I read somewhere that to understand nature is to understand God. It occurs to me that nothing would inflict fear in a male dominated Church more than such a woman, or worse, such a group of women. Could this be what lies behind the persecution of witches throughout history?

But back to my dream….what was that witch trying to tell me? That I could fly like her if I so chose? That through my writing I should dispel the myth of evil witches…..literally change the garments in which we automatically picture them? That through her I could discover my own magic?

I would like to think that it could be all those things, but mostly that I can discover My Magic, my ability to cast a spell to transform the world around me into a better place, through me – through my own words and deeds.

I hope that each of us can find our witch to help us say ‘I have found My Magic!’.

Our Body Elemental

Some time ago I wrote of how we use words, with little thought to the real meaning behind those words. I recently discovered that we all have a ‘Body Elemental’ – a subtle Being responsible for the workings of each and every part of our bodies.

It struck me that we would describe someone as ‘being in their element’ when conveying the image of that person being completely happy and fulfilled. I had never given much thought to what that ‘element’ was,  until I learnt of our Body Elemental. It follows that if our Body Elemental is happy, able to perform his or her functions in complete peace and harmony, then we are in turn happy and fulfilled and ‘in our element’.

So what helps our Body Elemental to help us and what detracts from the work that our Body Elemental is there to do? Well, we only need consider what makes us happy and what does not – and most importantly, how we deal with situations that make us unhappy or do not bring out the best in us.

As  we begin to understand that our physical bodies are not independent of our thoughts and feelings and that dis-harmony in our thoughts and feelings result in dis-harmony and dis-ease in our bodies, it is easy to see that it is our very thoughts and feelings that either support or detract from our Body Elemental’s purpose of nurturing us.

If only it was easy to maintain calmness, happiness and equilibrium in our daily lives, conscious of the inner workings of our physical  body, the energy of our etheric bodies, and with profound gratitude to our Body Elemental for the invaluable service he or she provides in our lives.

But there is the test of our ability to evolve as spiritual beings and to overcome the illusory trials we have created in our lives.

I urge you to do your own research on the Body Elemental and to seek to connect with yours in some meaningful way. An understanding of what subtle forces actively support our physical bodies can only enhance our understanding of what we truly are.
